Description

SPIROMATIC-machines increase productivity substantially at a relatively modest investment in comparison with conventional gear cutting machines. In place a variety of different machining units, one SPIROMATIC cuts pinions as well as crown gears in combined roughing and finishing passes, all in a single clamping, from blank to completely finished gears. Continuous indexing guarantees utmost cutting precision. Because of a cutter head spindle tilting to all sides the SPIROMATIC enables to produce longitudinal crown by using the SPIROFLEX method. The OERLIKON SKM 1 is characterized by its freedom in laying out and producing gears. Tools and generating method impose virtually no limits in choice of spiral angle, number of teeth and gear size.
